i think that beyond mmo's nothing sells all that much anymore on pc
they barely manage to sell a million copy
games like crysis, the witcher, hellgate london, all had low sales as far as i know
of course developper blame illagal downloading, i'd say mostly that pc games stagnate within their self defined limits of shooters and rts
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Yupp, I think you're partly right. I do blame DL'ing to be part of the problem though, but rather then trying to make it part of the solution, game developers usually shut their eyes and point their fingers. This is just as what the CD industry did, and look what happened to them..

You always have good pointers to give Shir, if I want "one site to rule them all" with the latest news of the pc gaming scene WITHOUT tens of thousands of ads and pop-ups and shit like those game spot and the lieks have, which one would you visit?

Edit: I realized after posting that, that my comment "one site to rule them all" sounds kinda crazy and doesn't really make sense. It's an expression me and my mates used a few years ago meaning one site that's better than all others, the best in it's genre so to speak, and the expression itself is ofc a perverted version of the "one ring to rule the mall" from the lord of the rings.

im not into pc gaming at all, so i wouldnt really know much
kotaku is a great gaming blog, tons of news, but the focus does seem to be on consoles, they have some pc gaming news, but its dwarfed by the console stuff
metacritics and gamerankings are great for reviews, as they take all kinds of reviews from magazines and websites and average it all out
i used to go to gamespot alot, but the site seems to have lost alot of quality in the past 6 months
i guess ign can be good?
gametrailers for all your video game video needs, they got gameplay, interviews, reviews all in video format, good stuff

so not one site to rule them all, but a bunch of decent places to check out
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

i play tons of new computer games all the time, don't post about them though mostly because A. They Suck or B. nobody ever replies anyways.

But if your looking for a good PC game series try the Dawn of War RTS Games, you can get the game and first 2 xpacs off Steam for 30$ and they're pretty fucking fun.

no its not a starcraft ripoff, blizzard ripped off warhammer for warcraft/starcraft (not blatant, but you can see it).

Storm: I try to reply to pretty much every post, heh.. I want this place to 'survive' so goddamn much that I try to reply to threads I don't even know anything about or really care about just to encourage ppl to keep on posting stuff.

So I for one would be glad if you did indeed write short reviews on new games you tried. It's more rewarding to read what a matey says rather than some john doe on a game review site.

Shir, thanks matey! That was pretty much exactly what I wanted to hear, hehe..

if ya want i can give ya a rundown when i play new games (which is a lot, i have a lot of disposable income ^_^)

but seriously if you like RTS's pick up the dawn of war series its really good.

don't pick up CNC3 cause it fucking sucked.

red alert 2 is coming out soon but i expect failure mostly because of EA.

Personally I never liked Red alert, I was always a C&C gold nerd, hehe.. I tried the third one at a friends, and it seemed to be pretty much like the rest of he games. As most reviews says as well, nothing has really evolved since the first installment in that series :-/ So yeah, I guess C&C3 is pretty uninterresting.

What they(developers) often fail to realize is that more units and bigger units aren't always whats make a game better! The greatest thing about C&C Gold (Gold is the same as the original but with higher resolution, SVGA YAY!) was the multitude of ways to gain victory. You gould use almost any unit in the game to win, from the simplest of foot unit to the biggest tank, as long as you played well. My favorite way was to either sneak in stealth tanks on at a time into my opponents base unti I had 5-6 of'em around his main building and blast it to pieces, or stage an attack at his base perimiter while flying in enginers with a chopper and having a tesla turret ready to be deployd, heh.. But you could also use recon bike hit and runs, air attacks + specials, like the devestating orca+ion attack. Man, those were the days.. we had so much fun playing that game with those old serial cables and linking, heh.. years before MP and networks was standard! :D Me and my mate played it on my old 14.4 baud modem ffs! If we moved to many units at the same time though, the game frooze and the dreaded message 'package lost' came up, haha..

Omg, what a trip down memory lane that was, heh.. excuse my ramblings, hehe..

Dawn of war you say, I always disliked warhammer stuff in the past, but maybe these games are better, as you say they are.

Sins of a Solar Empire is solid...
"I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because some people out there in our nation don't have maps and I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and the Iraq and everywhere like such as and I believe that they should our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S. or should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future for us."
