well its being discussed, and i guess the line might seem to be blurred on this subject
one one hand you have to think if you buy the cd, you can rip it to mp3, you bought the rights to personal listening for the product
but on the other hand, it would be cutting down on a product that is being legally sold...
i still think we should be able to rip mp3's from cd's we buy, and this just seems like a first strike measure, ensuring precedent for such other cases, and maybe a foothold should they decide to completely try to alienate the customers

With all the mp3 players out there how could they not let you rip your cd?? That's actually the only reason I buy cd's anymore, I immediatly rip them and put them on my mp3 player, and then stick the cd in the closet, they would lose money if I only purchased my 1 or 2 favorite songs from the cd online to put them on it. It would be absolutely stupid for them to pursue this...
i apprehend the day when cd's will be a novelty....
