:( My gal is a hardcore Potter-fan, for her sake(and mine 'cause I'll prolly tag along to see it) I sure hope it was at least somewhat entertainable..

Dunno sty i really enjoyed it honestly.

And thats saying something since the 3rd and 4th movies were HUGE disapointments to me.

The storyline was implemented fairly well, as well as i would hope for compressing it into a 2 hour movie. In all honesty was my favorite of the series thus far.

I went in expecting a disapointment, i left surprised that it wasnt one.

Edited to take out spoilers since nobody would thank me for that

meh. Considering i read the books...and that OotP was my favorite book, it really comes as no suprise i was disappointed. Honestly, a lot of the story was rushed and even changed. I understand the restraints it takes to make a 2 hour movie out of a novel that big, but still....

In any case, if I went in blind, i might have enjoyed it. For the record, the third film is by far my favorite.

Dunno I hated the third movie. I read the books quite a lot, though not recently, since at work i was constantly bored.

There were 2-3 major things i didnt like about the 3rd movie. Dementors flying around instead of walking, his patronus showing up as a shield instead of a stag totally ignoring a vital part of the story imo, and the entire shrieking shack scene as a whole. In my opinion the 3rd book is probably the most important, it introduces a lot of characters and gives the most background into his life until the end of the 5th book. They ignored a lot of vital information to me and I think i spent the entire movie at the theatre pointing out mistakes in my head.

Part of the reason I enjoyed the 5th movie is because I went in expecting to be disapointed, i expected to hate the movie in the first 5 minutes.

And one thing i remember from when book 5 first came out was the author making an interview saying how Warner Brothers had already called her complaining about how difficult she's making the books to be made into movie because of the intricacy(sp?).

it was a sheild untill he used the very end, when it was a stag. I missed it the first time (I hadn't read a single book till i saw the third movie) and when i went back and rewatched it, the patronus was a stag when he was on the other side of the lake.

Oh, and the first 5 minutes were pretty good actually. Although, they STILL left out important (imo) parts of the story within that time frame... stuff that will make a big difference in books 6 and 7. The ending was not what i had hoped because at the end of the book the entire order stands behind harry w/ moody talking to uncle vernon.....A very powerful scene.

LOL

Same here. Monika is a HC Potter fan as well, and I had to go see it with her. Anyway, it wasn't sooooooooo bad. OK, in general it pretty much sucked but I seriously expected worse. It has a certain dark flavor and lots of action that are somewhat appealing. Not really a memorable experience for me but at least I didn't leave the theater bored to death and with megapain in my ass, like I did after watching Pirates 3, crap of the year.

Hahahaha, that's just so funny! 'Cause apperently, you and I are kinde similar :)

I completely agree on the HC:Phoenix, it was decent and kinda entertainable, although not a "great" movie, quite good for us who hasn't read the movies.

(edit: wtf, "read the movies?" Lol @me :) I ofc mean, "Read the books" !)

I never did go to pirates 3, which I'm glad my gal never forced me to see! I was very sure it would suck even more than the second one, which I really hated, heh.. I was dragged to it with my GF and her little brother, they both loved it and I really hated it, so I wasn't very keen on doing that mistake again, haha.. Now I'm gald to hear, I made the right choice!

Prolly going to rent it some day though, haveing seen the first two I might as well see the third, just to end the series sorta..

Monika loved Pirates 3 but I really, really hated the movie. Special effects are great, I admit, plus there is some decent laugh stuff, however, the screenplay is totally chaotic, the movie gets really boring sometimes, and it's too damn long. OMG, definitely the worst movie experience for me this year :P

Pirates 2 did that to me I swear it was the longest 3 hours. We've still got a sealed copy of the DvD sitting on the shelf that we can't bring ourselves to watch again.
