Best single greatest...

Post by RoamingMadness »

Who do you think is the best single artist in the history of rock and roll?

My vote is for Hendrix. Can't pick a band, but you can pick a single member of a band.

I think id have to go with lynard skynard. Even though he was a bit before my time he was still the feckin man.
I blamed god, I hated him for ruining my life, but then I realized something, you cannot be angry with god and not believe in him at the same time. Nobody can.

ok so are we allowed to pick a single member from a group, or does it have to be an artist who was not really associated with a group?

Read my first post noob. You can pick any single person. You could for example, choose robert plant.

And Pluq, Skynard is a band. Not a person.

Damn. That's hard. I mean if you think over all, I'd go with Stevie Wonder or maybe Elton John.

For best single artist album, I'd have to vote Michael Jackson and Thriller, though I'm generally disgusted by the little shit. But that album and associated videos was unmatched, IMO.
Old Man.

I think I'd have to agree with you there, he's an all around great artist, singer, song writer, guitarist. Who else can compete? Petty? Kravitz?

couldn't pick a single artist, although eric clapton and peter frampton are both pretty good single artist candidates.

Ray Charles or Stevie Ray Vaughn, can't decide, and single artist album? I'm torn but feelin' SRV's In-Step--right before copter crash and after quitting drugs....

Great question though, R. ;)

i wouldnt say greatest, but definately my favorite would be Devin Townsend
the guy has released so many albums in the last 10 years, and all of varying musical influences going from rock, progressive, thrash, death, ambient, pop, electronic, new-wave and industrial

he's also a producer having worked with soilwork, gwar etc...
the guy does everything, and he's also a pupetteer
he also has a rocking skullet, and is a musical powerhouse
