i've heard its all hype and not what was expected, pretty dissapointing.

its got that drm on it that makes it only possible to install it 3 times and such
installs malware as well
i suggest you seek info on this before your purchase

I remember that long video that was released a long time ago, when some guy narrated and showed that game in front of a crowd, ending with a UFO blasting a planet to pieces with a death-star-like laser beam. I was so impressed I think I peed a little in my pants.

Now three years later, it just doesn't feel so cool anymore.

everything I've heard has been at best lukewarm about Spore

I can see this spawning an awesome RTS though where you create all your own vehicles/buildings within certain limitations.

well, that really sucks. When it first was announced it looked amazing. Now i'm hearing its "just okay" that sucks... i don't want to spend 50$ for something that is "just okay"

theres been a lot said about the DRM thats on Spore and mostly negative, but personally I see it as a good way for 3 friends to split the cost because you dont need the cd to run the game

$50 might be steep for a game that you will lose interest in quickly but maybe $17 is a fair price
