So what's up?

Post by phreek »

So what's up guys?! (and gals) I have kept in touch with many of you, but probably even more that I haven't. How is everyone doing? What's everyone doing? What's new? Good, bad?

What I've been doing, for those who care. Well... I'm a bill collector now for those of you who didn't know. I collect on charged off accounts, so the people I call are ... real winners, lets put it that way. I have a new girlfriend now who I've been with for 5 months tomorrow... and I love her very much. I'm going to marry her... and this time it's for real. She's my soulmate, and I've never been so sure of anything in my whole life. I spend a lot of time with her .. we live together already and it's great. Just got my new computer.. way sweet. I play WoW in my spare time... it's fun.

Anyone else?

Oh.. and if I don't know you tell me about yourself.

I've been meaning to respond ... just there is SOO much to cover, that the task is a bit daunting .... I will definitely update you on how things are shaping up in Shazland, but I have to build up some momentum first.

Well, I've been with my girlfriend for around two and a half years now, and we're not yet ready to give up on eachother or rip out hearts and step on them. Everything is actually going really well and every day I'm closer to her. I could only be happier if I had more time to spend with her.

I've been working 4-5 day weeks at the crappy, almost-minimum wage job as a cash register jockey, plus going to school during the day. Grades this semester are a bit of a lottery. We'll see how that turns out.

Debt is not your friend. I've got a not-small sum of credit card debt from buying toys, and other frivolous spending. I want to learn fiscal responsibility, and one day, I will.

Other than that, I have to be up in two hours, so we'll see how that works out.

well halfass was it? i'll try to cover some more ground...

after my diploma in june, and working all summer long at about 70 hours a week, i moved to montreal, where i began to work for bell sympatico as tech support, basically id get calls all day from people that either didnt know how to use a computer (80%) and the rest with real problems
and it wasnt my joy to do that work

so one of my buddies there found another job, for a multimedia company, and he was asked if he knew someone cool to fill a post similar to his, and he said i was kickass
i sent in my resume, passed 2 interviews, got the job, finished the training period, and now have a kickass job, wich a cool salary
its a great environment
full of mid 30's lady with only sex on their mind
at first i was a bit distabilized, as its completly ridiculous, but sex is probably the most talked about subject

also living with 2 room-mates now
one of my best buds... and his ex
thats a weird situation, and it gave rise to some pretty soap-opera situations
including the classic screams of : "do you still love me" and the fatal answer wich was a cool " no "
and the results we're a pissed off lady
anyways, she's been hitting on me ever since

now that better covers it
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Well, for me, the low carb store didn't work out after about 6 months... I lost a bunch of suppliers, and about 30 of my top 40 selling products went "poof". Had lots of customers, still, but nothing to sell them.

As things spiraled downhill, I went to real estate school and got my real estate license, which is what I'm doing now, and have since April. I really enjoy it a lot. Its paying OK (not as well as the store in its first 5 months, but OK), but it takes time to build a clientele. You set your own hours and all, which I like, because I can get time to do stuff with kiddo I couldn't before. There is a lot of weekend business (like Open Houses every sunday) but I think I'll stick with it a while.

Still playing a lot of WoW, which is a hoot. I can hardly wait for the expansion...

Weel, me and my gal are havin it better than ever, even thinking about becoming engaged with her. We've talked 'boot it sometimes and it sure feels right, tho both agree that we won't get married for many years tho, but we still kidna wanna show the world that we belong together.
(actually I think she just wanna show the world that I'm hers since I'm such a stud and every girl wants me ^^ )

We actually bought a christmas tree for our apartment today and are dressing (is that the right word for it? "Decorating"?) it right now! It's super-cozy and I'm happier than ever.

School sucks arse, we've got tons of stuff to do and little time for study. For thos of ya who don't know, I'm studying economics, Masters or whatever you guys call it. It's not that difficult, but 'cause of my extreme lazyness, I've got some trouble keeping up :-/ It's gone pretty decent so far tho. Onto my second year now, hopefully I'm finished after 3 and a half years.

Not to long 'til I turn 25 (14 february), looking towards that day with dread :-/

hmm, can't really think of much else. Still this isn't a halfass reply methinks :)

Well, stay cool!

I needed some time to post. Which i haven't really had the past two nights. Needless to say, this site has become a larger part of my life than ever and i spend a good deal of time online again ( i was rather hard to find for about a year). Still Roaming. Just a tad bit more madness lately. =)

I now work for a good company, am going to school, messing with the site.. and barely playing WoW.

Just not enough time in the day to do everything i need. But overall, im doing good.

moved to LA from PA after finishing at PSU...got a job at The Insider (sister show to Entertainment Tonight) and have been working there 5 days a week 3-11:30 and doing okay at it. Gorgeous girls there, lots of gay guys to deal with, and a crazy workplace in general, but an adventure. Loving living near the beach and just getting to the point where I'm stable enough with shit to start to do some freelance editing and eventually my own independent films. i love how everyone has grown up so much - - its crazy...

here's my myspace page if ya'll want to take a look - - its big on the west coast - almost a necessity:

Sup :)

A lot has happened since I posted on NL for the last time. In the meantime, I changed girlfriends twice, got a salary increase, was appointed project manager for two big initiatives in the bank, etc. On the whole though, no revolution, I guess ;)

As for my online activities, I'm so busy that I don't play anything at all. Time to change that and play some Q3/Q4 at last since even my clan mates from dioxide are pissed that I have no time for Q3...

Like for Roamie, my days are also too short to have time for everything. Nevertheless, I'm willing to regularly dedicate some time to these boards. I don't wanna lose contact with you again :/

EDIT: forgot one more thing. I'm buying a few brand new tarantula (incorrect name but commonly used in English) spiderlings soon :) Probably some terrestrial but also arboreal.

As soon as we get things rolling. I'm gonna make an emergency contact list of everyone, stored on a hard disk with email addresses, cell phone numbers, whatever it takes :P

phreek, lots of changes, and if you recall, I was rather long-winded on the old boards. will need some time to write it up, and update you all.

roam, I think that once that emergency contact file is solidified, we should pass it around (excel file maybe) so that several of us have it. maybe PM everyone once a month to send in and "update" notice, something to that effect?

glad to see everyone doing so well. Awn we need to get together for a beer! or something.

Dar, sorry to hear that you n the lady went your separate ways, but am glad for you that things are going well. :)

more from the blankster in the near future. being a dad/husband takes a lot of my free time, when I'm not working 12 hour days and sleeping as soon as i come home!

blank out

current pic of mah bike

Image

had some 150mm travel forks lined up, then they decided to start sticking so had to run some crappy suntours so I had 60mm travel at the front and 6.25 inches at the back. Bent my handlebars on the weekend, so to finish it i need, handlebars, forks, wheel, front brake, looking at a set of boxxers and another sun s type or double track.

frame cost me 90 bucks and retailed for 1200 pounds in 97 :D

Err well my name is Nelson. Im a friend of roamings for a few years now. Im from Miami, 22 years old and I believe I do what most people my age do... (at least around here) trying to finish my AA at ITT Tech n shit for my Computer Network Systems degree, I tend to party a few days of week with a famous whore we all know called maryjane, a little beer action and some amateur Texas hold'em at some local places down here. Love my heavy music too
