Anyone up for some fantasy football? You don't have to actually follow football to be good at this and it's a lot of fun. If we can get 8 people I would definitely run a league, although I'd rather have 10-12.

I'm about to post a link to this thread in the general section. When I made the original post I figured Styro and myself were in for sure, and I thought I remembered an attempt to start a nerds lounge league previously in which Crow and Genie expressed interest. I also though Mikey would like to play because he has shown interest in football in general in the past, so I was basically hoping 3 people would surprise me and so far Roam has. Anyway I'm really hoping we can get a league together, I think it would be sweet.

edit: if you guys can get some people from your SWG, EQ2, or WoW guilds that would be cool too

Alrighty, we've got our eight. I'm gonna set us up on yahoo so I will post the league ID and password here. If you want me to send an email invitation to the league go ahead and PM me your email or leave it here.

We also need to find a time when we can all make the draft. I like to draft pretty late so we can find out about as many preseason injuries as possible, but I also like to leave some time to reschedule in case the servers go down (which has happened to me on nfl.com, but never on yahoo). I'd say the latest we aim for is August 22.

Right now I have the draft set for August 22 at 11:00pm EST. The scoring is pretty standard, but I made some slight changes to the quarterbacks and defenses. QBs get 1 point for every 25 passing yards, 4 points for a passing touchdown, and lose 1 point for an interception. Defenses get more points for holding opponents to low scores than normal and get less points for sacks and interceptions. I did this to make quarterbacks and defenses more consistent instead of having huge games one week and then crapping out the next (especially the defenses). If you guys don't like that we can always change it before the draft.
