firefox 1.5

Post by flint »

Does anyone here use firefox 1.5? Its always leaking memory big time for me, does this happen to you guys too? Also my bookmarks keep getting screwed up (one time they'll be fine the next they'll all be gone).

Personally I have no had any problems with it. I have never had that problem of losing bookmarks with any version. I've also noticed it takes up a little more RAM than before. Planethalflife.com on 1.0.5 would use about 24-26mb of RAM usually and now with 1.5 its 40mb always.

It's been working smoothly for me, tho I haven't looked at how much RAM it uses? Never thought it would change that much from one version to another.. ?

Edit: checked it now, it uses up 27k for this place.. Is that much? Dunno really how much it's supposed to use?

When I first open a window it starts around 27k. However it slowly starts to climb unless the window is minimized or closed. The more windows that are open the faster the memory gets tied up. When I left three windows open I had it over 600,000k.

Wtf 600,000kb?!?!?!?! Dude I have 10 windows open right now and Im using 76kb n shit. Thats sounds like a memory leak. Im almost sure it has todo with how many extensions you have installed(Including java, quicktime, flash, etc) and windows open. Oh and bane 27 is fine, as long as it doent get to some extrememe amount possibly like flint. Ima look into it.

I use adblock, gmail notifier, reloadevery, disable targets for downloads, and fasterfox

Im sure I have the java, quicktime, flash, almost anything for the different media players

I dont think I added any new extensions when I upgraded to 1.5, only updated a few that need updating and uninstalled a few that didnt work

I never had memory leaks until version 1.5
