Especially the redskins future. Even with their new coaching staff and a high estimated cap of 94.5 million, the redskins are looking at gutting their ENTIRE roster and STILL being over the cap for 2006. That is scary. Sorry flint, looks like the skins are in big trouble.
it certaintly sucks but Im not all too afraid of whats to come - a lot of the team has agreed to restructure contacts in order to remain together which is something I havent seen in Washington in years
plus with the incredible coaching staff in place the future is really where Im looking
edit: and with 2007 as a potentially uncapped year Snyder is just licking his chops

IMO i think salary caps are a really good idea, but should be drastically lowered.
i feel these athletes are incredibly overpaid, and rookies who recieve signing bonuses are also unnecessary.
this shouldn't be about trying to get 11 million instead 10, the fact is minimum NFL wage is about 500k a year if i remember right, which puts them about 20 times better off than the average american.
i think thats pretty good.
the fact they're paid so much undermines any and all reasons they play football, and well most just play for the money, nobody goes into the NFL going "OMG i'm gonna play football with the big boys now!" nope, they're like OMG now i make 10 million a year for doing what i did all through college for free!!

they lost Arrington (who apparently wants to play in New York, that really gives me the redass)
but they gained Brandon Lloyd - FUCK YEA
as long as Taylor stays out of jail expect to see us in the playoffs again
edit: HOT SHIT antwaan randle el is a skin now too

good. The colts fans see Bill polian doing it, and aren't angered one bit...in fact they think their cap is healthy...but its far from it. (albeit not as sick as washington's cap). I'm a big fan of Brunell, so i hope he gets to teh SB w/ washington, but i don't see it happening. Randle-El was average last season. Same number of catches as Reggie Williams in Jacksonville, and the brandon Lloyd deal puzzles me. Santana Moss was a VERY good reciever last year, and they're now paying 3 WRs Starter's money? Snyder's fiscal activities in free agency are hillarious.
Anyhow, the Jags are going to win the AFC south this year with Edge now in Arizona (oh my) and w/o a strong running game, Manning's numbers will trail off...if you doubt that, then look back to the year edge was hurt (and to a lesser extent the year right after when edge wasn't 100%) and you can see that manning struggles w/o a running threat. Marvin is aging, and Reggie Wayne may or may not have what it takes to be a #1 receiver... (w/o marvin lining up opposite of him, i'm sure he'll trail off too). The chargers are going to slide backwards with Phillip Rivers starting - the Packers are going to be bottom dwellers n teh NFC north (which will be the worst division this year)
anyhow, my NFL predictions are:
AFC:
North:
Bengals 12-4
Steelers 10-6
Ravens 8-8
Browns 4-12
East:
Dolphins 11-5
Patriots 9-7
Jets 7-9
Bills 6-10
South:
Jaguars 12-4
Colts 10-6
Texans 7-9
Titans 4-12
West:
Broncos 10-6
Cheifs 10-6
Raiders 5-11
Chargers 2-14
NFC:
North:
Bears 12-4
Lions 8-8
Vikings 5-11
Packers 3-13
East:
Redskins 11-5
Giants 10-6
Cowboys 9-7
Eagles 7-9
South:
Panthers 11-5
Bucs 9-7
Falcons 8-8
Saints 3-13
West:
Cards 9-7
Seahawks 9-7
49ers 5-11
Rams 3-13
Playoffs:
NFC round 1 ------------------------------- AFC Round 1
Cardinals > Seahawks-----------------------Colts < Dolphins
Panthers > Giant -----------------------------Steelers > Broncos
NFC Round 2: --------------------------------AFC Round 2
Redskins > Cardinals------------------------Jaguars > Dolphins
Bears > Panthers-----------------------------Bengals > Steelers
NFC Championship --------------------------AFC Championship
Bears > Redskins-----------------------------Jaguars > Bengals
Superbowl
Jaguars > Bears
okay, so i'm a bit bias there at the end, but i think its quite possible it will play out this way.

as a receiver I dont think Antwaan is too talented, but as a return man and trick play guy Im really happy to see him in washington
for the most part I think thats going to be a fairly accurate prediction without knowing what happens in the rest of free agency and the draft - but the chargers at 2-14? remember, they get to beat up on the nfc west
Im also expecting the Vikings to be better than 5-11 (I actually think they should win the NFC North)
and I honestly dont see the Cards as a playoff team even with the edge, but thats just me

They're on the verge ... Seriously. What they have needed more than ever is a running game. Their offence is going to be VERY VERY Scary this year. VERY scary. If they can hold up on defense, i see them winning their division.
The chargers may do better than 2-14, but they WILL be at the bottom of their division...

archuleta just got a huge contract from the skins - that pisses me off
hes the kind of guy who looks amazing on paper (insane strength, blazing speed), but he just isnt a good football player
