Sirius?

Post by RoamingMadness »

So i was thinking about getting a Sirius radio, mostly to listen to howard stern. And i also have an interest in Ipod. This seems like a pretty good combination of the two.

Anyone else have a sirius? Interested in getting on? I downloaded the first stern show, and thought it was pretty good.

S50

Not bad. Although maybe small at only 1GB.

It's funny? Least to me it is. I can listen to the stern show like most people watch tv.

It's 4+ hours of entertainment every single day.

It's just like paying for tv.

You get comerical free music stations, and nearly comerical free talk stations (we're talking 24 minutes per 4+ hour show here, the same show on free radio had over 88 minutes). I think like anything else, you really do pay for what you get. And for only 43 cents a day, i think you could do much worse.

Up until yesterday i thought to myself.. "i wont miss the show, it's not a big deal, its a waste of money"

Then i heard it.

It was the best show id heard in over 2 years. Nearly 6 hours long, no comerical breaks. I listened to it all day, and honestly. Laughed all day long.

9.4 million people are already paying for radio, and that number is just gonna keep going up.

imo howard stern is a moron, his radio show would not be on the air if they hadnt put it on TV

seriously who wants to listen to "lets see them titties" on the radio, not to mention he's not very funny.

imo Bob+Tom > Howard Stern for pure humor.

although sirius is pretty badass i know a lot of people with it and they seem to enjoy it, although they are rednecks.

im gonna get an ipod caradapter so i can listen to my good music while driving =/

Right. He was air from 1981 to 1994 without the E show. But watching blurred out tits is what made his career. Good thing it showed up, he was just about to fall off the face of the map. By that point he was hovering around 20 million listeners daily. Thats more than anyone on any form of media.. oh i don't know.. ever. Hell. The most watched superbowl in history only had 40 million watchers. Stern got half that DAILY.

If you don't think he's funny, don't listen to him. But don't talk out of your ass bashing him.

Uhh...I'm almost certain the Super Bowl gets way more than 40 million viewers (I'm assuming we're only talking States here).

edit: and yes it does. 2003 Super Bowl got 88.6 million viewers in the United States.

proof

Oh, and if you scroll down a bit more there's a little chart giving the ratings from Super Bowl 33-37. All over 80 million.

Ah my bad. I the chart i used..

http://www.nielsenmedia.com/ratings/top ... ecasts.htm

Was ranked by %, not actual numbers.

I stand by my statement though. And i will add that not only did stern top 20 million listeners daily, he did that while being marketed in less than 20% of radio markets.
