Who are some of your favorite comedians?

Bill Hicks
Stephen Wright
Mitch Hedburg

Just a few of my favorites.. i highly recommend all 3. Very different styles.

I used to really like Jack Dee, he's changed a bit and so have I but he was definately funny. He might be a bit british for you guys but try him, it's very dry.

Eddie Izzard is the surreal king of comedy, Paul Merton on Have I Got News For You comes a close second. Eddie did well in the states so check him out.

Eddie Murphy's Raw has some really good and memorable moments.

Bill Hicks, although I can get tired of rants after a while.

Ross Noble is a funny guy I have only seen a little of, he's doing well in England at the moment. Northern english accent tho, beware!

There are some really funny Dave Chapelle sketches (kid in hospital-street hoops) and some really boring+played out ones.

Adam Hills was good when I saw him live.

Eddie Murphy's impression of Richard Pryor talking about Bill Cosby is one of my favorite skits ever.

"Next time he calls you talking about the offensive material in your act, tell that nigga i said to suck MY dick.

Ah.. good times, good times.

I never could get into british comedy, and i have no idea why. I swear i just can't laugh.. but ill check out the guys you mentioned. Maybe i just saw some crappy comedians.

Pablo Fransisco - Only seen like three different acts of his, but I swear I laugh so hard I wet my pants everytime.

Chapelle is highly overrated IMO, some stuff might be kinda funny but overall he's just plain boring. I know I'm like the only one who thinks that, heh..

Raw is just classic.

Chapelle's comedy is good. And most of his skit's are good. But he just got over exposed imo.

That's true, 'Rick james bitch, ownage' etc on the internet.

Did you know that Chapelle is a WOW player? he said in an interview he found it funny when he met a rogue called (along the lines of) Im_Rickjames_Bitch.

chappelle's money on the stage - - some of the best most loose presence ever imo - not fake just loose and funny unlike someone like eddie murphy who was allllll an act - - respect to cosby for the same reason - just a storyteller who was funny as hell

That's true, he is a very comedic actor but I wouldn't call him a comedian.

As for Dave Chapelle being loose vs Eddie Murphy as an act. I agree that Murphy is definately an act, and that's what makes it so funny, e.g. the eyetalians after seeing Rocky skit. However I think that Chapelle is just more subtle with his act, but does have a more natural air about him.
I've seen Chapelle's "Killing Them Softly" special and while it was funny, I feel his organisation? (not sure if this is the best word) could do with some work. The show flowed well, but the ending was unexpected and the show didn't quite have as many themes as I usually like. I REALLY like it when comedians can relate lots of the themes from their show together. Eddie Izzard is really good at this, and Ross Noble managed to do this with THE MOST RANDOM material I have ever heard (lots of it suggested by the audience).

true his ending on killing them softly was abrupt but its soooo non-stop....also love hicks, cosby, dane cook - can't deny he's the new shit, i dunno I like hedburg but I have a problem with the "isn't it funny that I act like I'm really dumb" act - little childish - might as well throw on beavis and butthead and that shit was old right after middle school started up...but he was just a fucked up druggie not dumb wasn't he hah.... ummmm there's more brains running slow right now

oh seinfeld of course - classic style

I thought Delirious was funnier personally.

oh yeah both great ones stormy - - lynch has probably got the best smartest wit I've ever seen on stage

pablo is just a funny as dude

yeah chappelle's new standup is good although I'd say a bit uneven - - "excuse me miss, but would you suck my balls? no no wait you didn't let me finish....would you suck...THESE balls??" "oh my god, those are the smoothest balls I've ever seen! yes I'll suck them."

hahahahahha
