District 9

Post by shiram »

my movie of the year so far
and while it certainly isnt perfect, its a wonderful blend of scifi, action, drama and some laughter

it doesnt overstate itself, at just under 2 hours
the documentary style is a nice touch, and not overdone
and while it leaves alot of unaswered question, i think its fair for this movie
it represents a social situation, and in those situations the public never really gets the full truth
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I started watching it, and I saw maybe twenty minutes or so before I turned it off and saw another movie instead. From what I saw, I am sure glad I didn't see it on the cinemas, paying ~15 bucks for it

Maybe I'll see the rest of it some day, if I am seriously bored and can't find anything better to watch, but this was definitely not my cup of tea. Too bad, I had been looking forward to seeing it for a long time.

Sounds like you werent a big fan of the way it was being filmed(Documentary type style). After 30 minutes or so, it changed.

Yeah, exactly. I hadn't heard anything about that when I started watching it, I had just heard that it was supposed to be a kick-ass alien movie. Been a while since I saw a cool sci-fi movie. So when all that documentary-crap was going on, I just got bored quickly. And that dude that kept talking into the camera with that accent just couldn't keep my interrest up unfortunetaly. I was watching it with a girl, and she was kidna bored as well, so maybe one day when I am alone I'll see the rest of it.
