In fact a lot of them said they would see it again, inspite the homosexual portions of the film. Im not saying its a bad flick either, I was half tempted to see it as well.

But when one dude says its the "newest version of brokeback mountain" even though he said this statement in a "this movie rocks" review of it, makes me say no thanks.

Imo, you guys just want to see it because of the new eye candy, and that in and of itself is just meh. Id rather go see 300 Spartans remastered.
Biggest March open for a R rated film ever.

"Though 300's haul is amazing considering its 'R' rating: it placed behind only Matrix Reloaded at $91.7 mil in May 2003 and The Passion of the Christ at $83.8 mil in February 2004"

And the Radiant forum is full of homos so I wouldn't take their word for anything. I've heard the fight scenes are second to none and that the humor breaks up the blood pretty well.

I dont remember any homosexual scenes...

Saw the king's ass, thats about it. Believe that was the only "dudity" scene.

the movie was good, but couldnt live up to the hype, and i guess thats why i dont feel the movie was that awesome

its a pg-13 flick, so theres no gore
you get to see some boobies, digital blood, a couple limbs flying off, stuff like that

the movie doesnt even have much substance either, its more stylistic effort, than a solid story telling
dialogs are short, and to the point, showing its graphic novel roots

as for the homo-erotic stuff, i didnt see it... obviously the sparatans are wearing not much, but it doesnt pass as gay
the bad guy is an example, but i'd say its more a lack of virillity

anyways, its a good movie, but there was so much hype, anticipation and speculation, it just couldnt match it all
still recommend you go see it, its definately worth seeing on a big screen

I say it kicks more ass than I expected. Very well put together, and visually awesome. Shir, I don't know where you come up with the PG-13 rating ... it's 18A at every theatre I've seen.

There's not much to tell in the story, so I'm not sure what more you wanted ... 300 spartan volunteers went to the gates at thermopoli to hold back the persian horde - they died. You can take some lisence here and there, but screwing with that much more totally fucks the movie.

As for the gay question? That dude had his head up his ass if he thought there was alot of gay shit in 300. Historical fact: The spartans fought in virtually nothing, as did most of the greeks. I think that the capes and loinclothes may have only been added in to prevent a XXX rating to the movie and acquiesce to our north american sensitivity to seeing scholngs. Since as far as I can remember, most everyone in that part of the world fought and competed in the olympics nude - check your local greek pottery (the real stuff, not comtemporary knockoffs).

In short, the movie kicked some serious ass and exceeded my expectations (some of the trailers looked like they might have mixed in some D&D type stuff, which they didn't). This is a theatre must-see, and I'll be trying to catch it on IMAX this weekend (IMAX show was sold out hours before I got there when I watched it).

Also, my wife loved the movie ALOT!!! So chicks should feel safe checking it out as well.

I enjoyed the film aswell, but disliked a couple things:

-The CGI'd environments. I understood going into the movie that this would be the case for nearly all the scenes. Some scenes just looked too fake. Perhaps I'm just too picky

-The narrator. I hated his voice. Needed a deeper tone. I also couldnt help but think of the worthless friar in Van Helsing everytime he was shown
