maybe they will just push more spiderman 3 crap down our throat to compensate that loss

Sony loses over $300 per PS3 they sell as opposed to a $76 and $92 profit on the Xbox 360 and Wii respectively. Not to mention the fact that the Wii is outselling the PS3 2 to 1 in Japan. Blue-ray FTW! :/

yea the funny thing is blu-ray is outselling something 4 times over hd-dvd
but if sony can weather out those losses, and keep some of their key titles, they could still be a force to reckoned with in the console division

Yea, Nintendo hit one out the park with this one. 360 is tight of course, but the Wii is a suprisingly uber choice; its sold out everywhere I go.

after playing the wii, and not just the sports game that comes with it, i can definately say i dont like the, nun-chucks wii-mote thingy
plus the game a i played sucked ass
rayman something
wario some other thing
and zelda whatever

but i cant denie its mass appeal and early success

I agree, Blu-ray is poised to win the battle of the next-gen media format. Unfortunately, for the PS3 and Sony, that's what's driving the system out of reach price wise for a bunch of console gamers (who happen to be mostly kids I assume). Faced with the choice of a PS3 or a Wii parents are going to go for the Wii for sure.

yes wii is definately aimed at a different audience
while xbox and ps3 are aimed at a somewhat more adult audience

right now, its too early
but i wont rule out sony just yet
that being said, in 2 or so years, when i buy a next gen console, i might end up with an xbox if sony keeps losing their exclusive titles

also, the Wii is awesome, and I like the xbox as well.
