i got to "what happened??" before i turned it off, too long an intro for my attention span
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
There probably isn't any meaning in life. Perhaps you can find something interesting to do while you are alive. Like how you found that flower. Like how I found you.
Buttons aren't toys.

The middle part, where they go "What You Say?" - "All Your Base Are Belong To Us!" -part was pretty funny, but overall it was kinda mediocer IMO.

The concert featured a couple of cool things I'd never seen before. They had these spotlight pods that were about the size of a Mini Cooper with a seat on the back for an operator, and they were on a track system that allowed them to be positioned about anywhere in the arena... They'd be way at the back for normal spotlight duty, or down tight with a laser-like spot on Brian May's fingers during a solo. They were really cool.
Well the opener was Flash Gordon. On either end of the stage were two raised octagonal platforms. The arena was completely dark (other than the lighters) and they even drew curtains across the exits. In the mean while fog machines filled the whole arena bottom with fog until it covered the tops of those platforms. When the vocals started, we realized those pods were nose-down on the platforms, and 3 tight red beams came from each one, along with streams of fog, and it looked like rockets taking off either end of the stage.
Mercury really knew how to please the crowd, for sure. At the end, he threw about 500 long-stem roses to everyone. A totally awesome concert, and about the best I ever saw.
Other bans I saw:
Kansas (which had a newbie band open for them, some kids named "Foriegner")
Moody Blues (about 6 times)
Asia
Yes
Dave Edmonds
Bruce Springsteen
Jefferson Starship
Eagles
Chicago
Who
Guess Who
Manhattan Transfer
Beach Boys
Van Hagar (never saw them with Roth, though)
Billy Squire (opened for Van Halen)
Genesis
Phil Collins (by himself)
THOSE were the days...
