Burning Crusade Delayed
I'm too lazy to go get the link from the blue post, but BC is officially delayed until January 2007...

Did you really think blizzard would release it on time? They have NEVER released a game on time. Never. Not one.

From reading the post, it seems the advanced content and instances weren't going to be ready for release this year. And I kinda agree it wouldn't have made sense to release it with just the Outlands to level in without new instances.Hylandor wrote:Seemed like Beta was going smoothly
I DO wonder what content release they referred to though around the holidays to keep us busy until BC...
Frankly, I liked the staged rollout of the instances, etc., so I figured they'd do that with BC, too. But I also wonder if every content patch AFTER BC is out is BC, people will think they've thrown in the towel on non-BC content... making people say "just because I didn't buy BC, I STILL pay $15 a month, and I want new stuff too!"

Interesting point, and ive wondered this myself. I would assume, sooner or later they'll stop selling WoW without BC. If they stop updating it. And it's just understood, this area is off limits.Mikeyrat wrote:Frankly, I liked the staged rollout of the instances, etc., so I figured they'd do that with BC, too. How much stuff have they added recently for WoW instance wise?

Well, its been slowly growing basically with each major content release...
(kinda in this order)
MC
Mara
DM
AV
ZG
BWL
AB/WSG
AQ
Naxx
In addition, there has been a significant upgrade to the questing centers in several zones, as well as a lot of increased faction rewards, quests, equipment, etc., usually for levels 55-60. One thing there *hasn't* been (since Mara/DM) is additional content for lower levels. The addition of the new races will, of course, add content for lower levels of the owners of BC, but Blizz has said before that since most people spend a huge percent of their playtime at 60, they won't be doing much more for low levels. Personally, I think this is a mistake. I'd like to see some new low-level zones, instances, etc., to encourage more people to reroll. Also, I think the important faction content for 60s should have low-level content so you can start building their faction early. Like earning ZG faction in Sunken Temple, for instance.

I don't play WoW but this probably isn't a bad thing except the fact that 7 million or so players have to wait. Releasing buggy/unfinished content is real bad for MMOs (ie just about every SWG release). Blizzard always releases polished quality products. I'm sure this will be nothing less than that.

Well, I was being serious. I played a 60-day WoW subscription after it had been out for a while; I think it was last November. The game mechanics and play itself I thought were great. There was terrible lag and I had login queues which was greatly annoying but that was a result of it's popularity. WoW just wasn't for me, I love Blizzard games and haven't been dissappointed in any of the ones that I have purchased (I have not played them all so I'm sure there is a turd in the punch bowl somewhere).Mikeyrat wrote:My sarcasm detector is buzzing...Octa wrote:I don't play WoW but this probably isn't a bad thing except the fact that 7 million or so players have to wait.
