SW: TOR

Post by Crow »

Who's planning on playing, who isn't?

All classes have been revealed now. Two force users per side and two non-force users. Looks to be pretty badass, just wish there were more choices, but all will be revealed.

I may try it but I'm still afraid it's gonna be the next SWG.

So far, I am not impressed. The classes look way, way to boring. Maybe it's just the released info that is small yet, but it seems you have very little way of customizing your char. I really hope they expand the possibilities for creating more unique chars than seems currently possible.

Even the graphics look rather weak for a new game. I'm not that interrested in graphics really, but I want them to be fitting for their settings, and this one looks.. well, it just doesn't look all that cool. I has some weird mizture of childish cartoonish animations, like the animated tv-show, and KotOR-like graphics.

I sincerely doubt I will bother to pay for this, it just doesn't seem worth it. *sigh* I just wish they had made a SP kotor game instead :-/

Hah, I prolly sound like a grumpy old fart now..

I hope its the next SWG, I've been playing the emulator for a bit again and its crazy to remember that the entire game was player controlled. Everyone had something that someone else wanted, totally player driven economy.

A few profs aren't live yet but all the GM commands have been disabled and its a grindfest. So its pretty much the way it was when you last played it, with all dungeons live.

And no speeders

seriously though, i'd sacrifice untold numbers of virgins for an HK class, why can't bioware simply steal amazing ideas from their own game?!?!?

but i think i might go sith inquisitor? looks pretty cool.

Well its classes are all "iconic" so nothing bad will happen there...

I'm thinking Imperial Agent, the boys from WAR/EQ2 aren't talking much about what class they want to play and I think we'll have a split between factions this time around. We went good guys in WAR and paid for it with shitty underpowered classes that screwed us over in the endgame.

A few did, I rolled SW and realized that there were no shadows for the warrior that died up close and did little warrioring.

DoK was overpowered
Magnus was overpowered in the endgame with the pull people into a corner and let the collision detection stick them in place.
the orc dude and his tanking AND healing was OP.
Naked bitch was OP because the good version of her blew donkey dicks.

Bascially it was a nightmare on the good side of WAR because the counterpart sides had some good shit going for them. (except magnus because they actually blew hard.)

they've since nerfed all that op stuff (except bright wizard which is op)

and now the equivalent order classes are op like witch hunter > witch elf now and black orc sucks, but IB and KoTBS are both op

its kinda funny

they should of just straight mirrored both sides classes and changed skillnames/classnames, would have been alot better imo.

Yeah but also pretty boring...

I played WP, my wife played WH. WP was pretty good, quite able to beat any class. Once I reached like rank 15, he became truly poweful - hard to take down, self-sufficient and a decent damage dealer. WH wasn't bad either but fragile, and way inferior to WE.

I played WE a bit before all the nerfing, and she was a real OP bitch. Capable of pwning even tanks so hard it was incredible. Galactic damage ;)

I also played Chosen a bit, simply because I like heavily armored folks with big weapons, and this class also looks best IMO. In terms of efficiency, he wasn't a pushover in PvP but not a real star, either.

Anyway, my WAR acc is in sleep mode. My only active MMO subscription is LotRO atm.

I enjoyed prowling BF's with my WH in mid to late t2 and early t3 but it got old quick.

Shadow Warrior was byfar the most gimped profession in game. I had to respec to the assault tree to grind any sort of pve xp and that just made me useless in pvp.

did they ever fix the randomness of keep loots?

don't think so no, because i showed up to my first tier4 keep assault once both doors were down and the guy was at 50% and i hit number 1 and got my annihilator? i think chest piece was pretty lol.

EDIT: stopped playing this game, solid ideas (leveling in pvp, loot in pvp, and well all the pvp stuff)

bad ideas= mythic seconds (google it), terrible balance between factions, no xserver bgs, and the pve was awful (i didn't do any pve content past level 5 except the new egypt style place with ridiculously good loot which i only did once and got an epic axe and never came back.

they pretty much dropped the ball, too early of a release, endgame pvp was pretty much useless, lotta bugs, too imbalanced, just made parts very unfun.

btw you can sign up for free trial accounts that dont expire so you can continuously pvp tier1 without ever paying (since tier 1 seems the most "balanced") lol

Nordenwatch was the greatest Scenario in the game. Followed closely by Morakain Temple.

well when i was playing they had a "nordenwatch holiday" which last like 2 weeks and every tier could play it, so i ended up only playing it for like 2 solid weeks and wanted to kill myself.
