So I moved out of my apartment
So I moved out of my apartment
Yeah i couldnt fucking stand my jackass of a roommate anymore.
so now i'm technically "responsible" for any and all payments til october, which is bullshit i'm one of 2 names on the lease
so i moved all my stuff (parents stuff) into a storage unit.
so pretty much i'm gonna pay rent electric/cable for the month get the electric out of my name, break the lease and close my checking account (cable comes out of it, but the cable isn't in my name so i cant cancel it...)
so not sure what kinda shit the landlords will try to do, maybe take me to court. but i have nothing to take really
literally all the stuff in the apartment was my parents.
my car is in my parents name.
i don't really have any money (although i do work)
my computer/ipod and all that my parents gave me, i could claim it was actually theirs.
EDIT might be more expensive to take me to court, than what they'd get out of me anyways.
not sure about everything else.
any suggestions of other shit i should do?
i want to get this shit squared away so i can look for a 1 bedroom.
no roommate = win

how much would it cost to break the lease?
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
There probably isn't any meaning in life. Perhaps you can find something interesting to do while you are alive. Like how you found that flower. Like how I found you.
Buttons aren't toys.

Let me get this straight. You signed a legal document, stating you owe money.. without reading it. Or getting a copy?

Ya I kinda have the same problem. depends on the landlord if they do anything or not... I have a buddy who's a landlord and people dip on him all the time, he can't do shit b/c it cost more to take to court sometimes than the rent they'd be getting. Try to find someone to take over your lease if you can - if not maybe try talking to them and explain WHY you want out ouf the lease, and if there's anything you can do so they DONT take you to court, because if they do they'll probably just garnish your wages until it's paid. If you had a deposit, ask if that will cover it.
Hehe true! I didn't move out 'til I was 24 Tho I slept at my GF's apartement most days of the week, it was sweet to come home and have all your clothes washed, dinner on the table and no bills to pay! the sucky part was the slow broadband, since my parents lived out in the bushlands, all we could get was crappy DSL :-/
Well, nowadays tho, I wouldn't wanna trade back. Me and my GF and our two cats has started a little family of our own And we've got faster broadband too!
