Yeah, nothing really new with me, except I've been busy with the new kid. I think the elephant in the room is that almost nobody plays the same games anymore, which was the biggest bond we had. I'm hoping that we can all play Diablo 3 and really start back up, and maybe get a few new people. The other possibility is that many of us who were younger when this all started are now graduating college, getting older, getting married and having kids (like me) and don't have time to play games and talk about random stuff here. Just my thoughts.....what do you think??

crazy how long we've been together (is it 8 years now?) just to let it fade away, but like Kadian said I think Diablo 3 could be the game that saves us

I still visit this place several times a week and respond to almost all threads that is ever started, as well as start some of my own.

For me it's the lack of response that stops me from bothering to post, to be honest. I always try to respond to other's threads to encourage them and others to post again and to post more, but we are just too few who are any active.

And yes, I think you hit the head of the nail above. Lets just face it, games aren't the number one priority anymore, not even close to it.

Sucks to be the only non-american as well. Back in the day we were a few in different time zones, now it's just me left methinks.

Perhaps we all know that even though nobody is posting, we are ALL actively checking anyways.

If you can commit to that, then you do your part in keeping the spirit alive!

Even though DII was the glue that started the whole thing and kept it together at first, it has always been the lounge and the random chit-chat about everything between personal stuff ro the most ludicrous internnet finds that has attracted the most responses and activity.

Even when we played DII the most, most DII stuff was kept at DII.net and the rest we talked about in here. IIRC I had actually quit DII when I first signed in to phreeks newly made site.

Btw, Shir said a good thing above, indeed it often ended being just me and him responding to eachother, heh.. (and yes, mate, I know you are canadian, no offense intended.)

With all this being said, I still can't wait 'til DII hits the shelves though! Since my job just gave notice to me and most of my collugues, which will leave me alot of free time playing later this year, ghehe..

Life is just busy, nothing really to say.

If we do get a group back like at the start of WoW, that would be pretty nice. But i don't think there is anything wrong with us just being here, and when things pick up, they do, and when they dont, they dont.

The natural conversation here is always better than the forced.

In the mean time, i will suggest the following recipe to keep you entertained.

It requires!

Family Pack of Chicken Wings (or two or three or four)
Franks hot sauce
Butter

Cut your wings in half and cut the tips off, if you dont know how.. google. Steam them in your largest steamer (i use a wok with a disposable pie pan) for about 15 minutes, to get most of the fat to melt away. Dry them off, ziplock them, and then later on... when you're thinking... You know what would be great right now? Hot wings.

Lay out your wings on Parchment paper and bake at 425 for 45 minutes, flipping once halfway through. Toss in hotsauce butter/mixture. Ratio of your choice. Less butter more hot. I like almost pure hotsauce.

Consume.

I've made these about 40 times. Forced my girlfriend to make them another 160 or so. They're fucking awesome. Best hotwings ever. Best. Ever.
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

There probably isn't any meaning in life. Perhaps you can find something interesting to do while you are alive. Like how you found that flower. Like how I found you.

Buttons aren't toys.

I've spent the past 6+ months working opposite hours of friends and family, no games can hold my attention since everyone gets on to play 3 hours after I've left for work and have logged out 2 hours before I get home.

I blame the failure of several MMO's in the past two years for everyone moving away and on with their lives. SWG was the last thing that kept most of us together. And to some extent WoW.

I try to check in about every week ... don't always manage it though.

RL has been pretty stupid busy for me in the last couple of years what with starting my practice and now trying to finalize the deal to buy the practice that I am in. I haven't even seen my friends from RL but every couple of months lately.

I've always been a quieter poster too I think ... I'll go on and on if I have something to say, but I suck at small talk.

Still .... GOGO D3!
