2nd try and stand-up

Post by Styrofoam »

Went WAY better than the first. Pretty much laughs all the way through. I didn't start off with the strongest joke.. but i did a lot better in the middle towards the end.

If by some miracle i get paid for telling jokes, then I'd be really happy. I doubt that will ever happen, and i accept that. I'm just out having a good time trying to make myself less frightened around people and threatening situations. (stand-up may not seem it, but its way more scary than anything i've ever done... ever.)

So, I guess you can say I'm doing it for fun. I don't want to make a career out of it, but i do want to keep at it, hone my craft and be able to make people laugh with well crafted and well written jokes. Its fun. A lot of fun.

hehe the few times i have been to standup, i admit that it is great fun to yell back stuff to the guy up front, if he messes up or makes a bad joke...

price you pay for being on the stage
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Yeah, if you do that at a comedy club, often times you'll get 1 warning to stop the heckling then you get kicked out.

i guess that depends where you go, and just how much the guy sucks...

i've always been interested in trying stand-up but i have terrible anxiety about stuff like that (not just stage fright).

if i could get past that, stand-up is something i'd like to try, maybe i'll try it sometime down the line.

definately fun. You should give it a try for sure. One thing is for certain, you'll want to keep doing it once you get up there. You just have to force yourself to get up there and do it. If you find ways to put it off, you'll never get up there and go.
