Nose job

Getting a nose job tomorrow. Not only cosmetic surgery, but it will hopefully make it so that I can breathe freely for the first time in 9 years, heh..

good luck, maybe i should get one of those...i seem to be only able to breath from one nostril

That's exactly like me. Do you also change which nostril works during the day? For me it changes every now and then, heh.. it's like a pile of goo in the far back of the nose which moves back and forth depending on my movements. Hopefully I'll get back the ability to smell as well. I kinda miss that.. :-/

I have that too. I just assumed part of it was 'normal', and part from smoking.

Um guys every mammal on the planet only breathes through one nostril at a time. Normally you use one nostril for about an hour then your body naturally switches to the other to keep them from getting too dry.

I'll have my B.S. in Biology in May and start grad school in the Fall. Im not really an expert on mammals but I did take a 4000 level Mammalogy class and the nostril thing was one tidbit of info that stuck with me.

Well, I guess I don't feel like I have gunk in the back of my nose that much, and if I take a deap breath in through my nose I get air going in both sides, but I suppose if I am breathing normally and one side has slightly more blockage than the other the air will take the path of least resistance, if you want to really think about it that much... Bane said he couldn't even smell anymore though, so he has some other issue for sure...

Heh, the surgery went good but I look like a monster in the face, sorta like the ppl in those extreme makeover tv-shows.

And about the nostrils, I'm to lazy to read that link shir provided, but here's a short description of my problem:
My nose was 'curved' and one nostril was very thin and the other was kinda crap as well. I've smoked quite alot during many years. I got a cold some ten years back and over-used something called Nezeril which is a spray that un-clogs snot in the nose. If you use it over tool ong periods it fucks up the nose alot. ANd since my nse was already crap, things got even worse ofc. After that I haven't been able to smell stuff really, or be able to breathe through the nose without getting "out of breathe" after a while due to getting to little oxygen.

Well, hopefully this surgery will help things, and allow me to breathe and stuff. I know more ppl than me have this problem, but few actaully does anything about it.

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!H!!!

Finally, the plaster is off! Heh, it feels so fucking good to finally be able to breath again! The only downside is that my nose has been full of of tubes and bandages for two weeks and is kinda sore. It keeps dripping snot out of it as well, heh.. I really hope that will stop soon!

Anywas, here's a shot of before and after, damn, it's quite a difference. I never wanted the cosmetic changes really, but now afterwards, I'm actually kinda happy they did indeed make it straighter. Looks better imho.

Heh, after two weeks with plaster and the tape needed to keep the plaster in place, my face looks like shit! I need a "facial" now as well, hehe..
