well some of you might know, but you new guys, typically during the summer (past two years) i worked at a summer camp for the United Methodist Church here in Tennessee.

well anyways this year i applied and didn't get rehired.

i was pretty depressed about it, considering i thought i had done a pretty good job.

EDIT: theres a new like head person instead of the one we had last year who may have had something to do with the hiring process, but i still feel kinda weird about it

well yesterday i get called up by a friend who worked with my last year, he's the camp director this year, and apparently one of the new guys they hired freaked out and quit.

so he asked me if i was up for the job, well considering i was jobless and need money for college, i said i'd do it, so tommorrow i'm back off to the wilderness for some camp during the week.

i may be of no concern to you guys, but this shit is kinda bugging me.

i didn't get rehired and some new guy got hired, and quit, so they're calling me up to replace him.

i feel kind of used, after working there for 2 years and then not getting hired for the third year. guess i'm just ranting a bit.

i'm gonna feel awkward rolling up in there and being the replacement guy ya know.

anyways i know this is kinda a rant, but nobody posts in the rant forum as it is, so whaddya guys think.

i'd be sneaky and try to find out about this new guy that freaked out - sounds to me like he was owed a favor or nepotism. shady dealings by the head person either way.

I'm a counselor (volunteer, not job) at a UM church camp every year too, its great fun.

I understand you feeling that way, I would to if they had treated me like shit too. It's like being picked last in school when you're playing football or something.. degrading. :-/

Good for you that you got the job anyways, good for the kids too who gets someone who cares and such.

oh yea yea i am, though sometimes i wish i was not, but thats just normal i think, you cant always love your job...
