There was a movie with Natalie Portman that had her living in a Wal-Mart for quite a while:

This kid didn't just dream this up...
Well, actually, there appears to be an anti-Wal-Mart "movement" by a certain political faction here in the US. Things like Maryland passing a law basically forcing WalMart to spend a certain amount of money on employee health programs (the kind of thing that has eventually caused GM to lay off over 100,000 workers). Walmart finds the need to do Community Service-type commercials due to many local officials turning agianst them.
Walmart is also taking heat for supposedly buying stuff made in sweatshops in China.
Being the latest whipping boy by the left and their buddies in the press, the press find this story somewhat interesting. I was just pointing out that this kid didn't have some grand, unique idea. Natalie Portman did it in a movie in 2000.

Old Man.
wal-mart is catching heat here as well
i know i worked for them, i guess it goes in pair with such huge success and the effects the store has
anyways, that same type deal was portrayed in malcom in the middle as well
its interesting to note, that at least here in cananda, there is always a wal-mart employee in every wal-mart, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
The difference between GM and Walmart is that cars are a luxury item, compared to the need to wipe your ass or buy toothpaste.Mikeyrat wrote:Well, actually, there appears to be an anti-Wal-Mart "movement" by a certain political faction here in the US. All retailers who sell clothing are the target of "OMG SWEATSHOPS" if they change their buying habits or force the manufacturers to pay higher wages and control the work force its for the management to decide. Wal Mart is the USA of retail, a superpower who can and will get its way because of the monetary value of contracts with them most manufactures will follow what they say in order to keep the giant happy.
Cliff notes...
All big box stores get jacked up because they need to lead the industry in ethics and integrity as a example in nearly all communities. Mom and Pop are dead...
"I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because some people out there in our nation don't have maps and I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and the Iraq and everywhere like such as and I believe that they should our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S. or should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future for us."
