Finally moved!

Post by Darius »

I finally moved to my new apartment just before Christmas. Still arranging it (lighting, window curtains, etc.) although all the furniture is already there, as well as kitchen appliances and electronics. The coolest thing is that in my living room, I have a pretty decent home theater/console gaming paradise ;), with a wonderfully comfortable couch, a 52" good LCD (didn't want plasma due to multiple reasons) and a nice 2.1 speaker system. Especially Blu-ray movies fucking rock on this rig

Sounds great! What size is the apartment?

I love that you have learned to prioritize, first the movie and gaming paradise, then the fucking curtains, hahaha :D

Yeah, prioritization is important :) But seriously, the curtains were ordered, they have to be sewn, shipped and so on. It takes a while.

74sqm - not too large but comfy enough - bathroom, WC, a small wardrobe, 3 rooms, nice kitchen. It's OK. I considered a 100+ apartment but prices were crazy, plus we don't really need a larger one.

I've lived in my small apartment for six months now, and I still haven't got around to buy curtains! hahaha :D I dfubnno the english word for it, but I have.. hmm.. shades? Is that the word?

I lived in a 78 sqm, back when I had a girlfriend, and it's not too small, but I'm guessing you will outgrow it though if you have another kid :)

Yupp, prices on apartments is just crazy here as well. No matter the financial crisis and al that, since the interrest have been so low, people have still afforded to pay insane prices for pretty much any type of apartment. So I rent mine, heh.. maybe in the future I will afford to buy my own place, hehe :)

I think the english speakers understood what you said by curtains and shades... Us American's are dumbasses about the metric system.
"I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because some people out there in our nation don't have maps and I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and the Iraq and everywhere like such as and I believe that they should our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S. or should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future for us."

I actually have no problem with the imperial system but this is only due to the fact that I've been an NBA fan for many years now :) Inches and feet are no problem. Fahrenheit and gallons/mpg figures are a bit more annoying :P

60 miles is about 100 km
i just multiply by 1.6, its close enough
an inch is about 2.54 cm

Canada is stuck between the USA's system and the rest of the world's system
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Don't you guys even use "cups" as a measurement when, for example, baking? :) that seem kinda medieval IMO, hehe.. I was gonna make pan cakes based on an american recipe once, and it was darn hard to convert all those weird measurements, hehe

Not American enough to play with big brother, and not un-american enough to get along with the other kids?

i often say Canada is like the 'lite' version of the USA
to deny the USA's influence on us is ridiculous, but we do differ majorly on some aspects
