The monk looks really cool, but why do you think it spells the end for the return of the paladin? I see more of an resemblence to the assassin. He's got fist weapons and it almost seems like he got some moves which needs powering up and then realease a final strike, much like the assassin.

Haven't read through the skill tree yet, gonna look into that now:

But Blizz has already said that the bar was the only returnign class, so I guess the paladin will not be avalaible anyways. Some sort of 'knight' class should be available I guess, maybe something more like a cleric? I guess we have to wait and see.

On the blizzard website in the character bio for the monk they refer to him as a holy warrior which I figured would replace diablo 2's holy warrior, but his skills are more assassin flavored now that Ive seen them.

One thing that sticks out to me about the characters and the videos shown so far is that there are no shields and no ranged weapons, at least that have been used by the playable characters. My guess for the final class would be some form of rogue/amazon/ranger.

guaranteed the 5th class with be a bow/ranged character, there's already bows and throwing weapons dropping ingame, so i would be very surprised if this wasn't true.

I have to admit I always thought there would be some sort of sheild and armor-wearing class, not necesseraly like the paladin, but kinda like a knight of some sorts. With the four classes already announced, and as you say, bows and shit being dropped, well there can't really be anything but a 'ranger' class left then?

Maybe something like "Aragorn", wielding both bow and sword with equal skill? To me it seems very implausible that we will not have a class which mainly weilds swords! Of course the barb can do that, but all movies with him have him weilding axes and shit.

Nonetheless, it will be interresting to see what they will come up with. I guess we can be sure there are already a couple of more classes being planned or already finished for the expansion, so if we "lack" certain classes this time around, they'd sure be in the expansion anyways.

Bows are for monks, clearly.

The last class will be a ninja. Throwing stars, swords, teleport.. oh wait.. thats the assassin. I mean monk. Yea nevermind. Ranger.

At any rate. My vote is for some sort of hybrid beastmaster/ranger.

Im hoping to use a crossbow with multishot while riding atop a trampling elephant. Or even better. Maybe an ultralisk.

i dont really care what they name them
we still got the barbarian, sorcerer, necro and maybe even assassin (monk?)
they just changed their name
and besides, the expansion they will push will probably have new classes as well
