Darksiders & Bayonetta

Post by Darius »

Check them out, folks.

The former is a decent hack'n'slash featuring War, one of the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse as main hero, with some RPG elements and decent graphics/cool boss fights. A darker, more "classic" game, a mixture of Zelda, God of War and a bit of Diablo. I like it, bought the PS3 version.

The latter is a crazy Japanese hack'n'slash featuring a super-sexy witch pwning baddies with her... hair (!), weapons and crazy spells. At the first glance not my cup of tea but awesome reviews everywhere, fluid combat, good graphics. I might give it a shot, since I liked Devil May Cry 4.

i played the demo for bayonetta, and i liked it, much better than the devil may cry series
but i dont think i'd like the end game gameplay, those games usually kick my ass

darksiders is on my radar, and i was tempted to get it, but i've still not completed brutal legends, god of war collection and dragon ages, which i really enjoy
so darksiders will wait
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I actually bought two more PS3 games yesterday - God of War Collection and Demon's Souls.

As for GoW, many people claim it's the best PS2 game ever. Since I've never played it and GoW3 is coming, I thought I'd give the remake of GoW1/2 a shot. I played a bit last night, and it's fun. Good gameplay and combat. Graphics do look a bit dated but the remastered 720p 2xAA res is sharp, animations are nice as well. Looking forward to GoW3.

Demon's Souls hasn't been released in Europe so I finally managed to easily get a US import at a small game store in Warsaw. I like the atmosphere and the combat/RPG aspects. I wonder if the game is really as punishingly, unforgivingly difficult as people claim. Sure looks like a gritty, dark game.

watch it with dlc with games not from your region, the dlc will probably not work

the much talked about difficulty of demon's soul is whats keeping me from getting it, because the game concept, and the multiplayer elements looks great

TBH, I don't care much about DLC, but thx for the warning anyway. As for multi, I'm probably gonna play DS single only (like all console games)... I may be weird but while my PC is connected to the internet, I've never bothered going online with my consoles. I treat them both as SP-only game systems. I might make an exception for DS though, since the MP component does look cool and intriguing.

Yeah, I see. Such MP gaming would be pretty cool. Too bad I don't have an established group of PSN online friends to play with.

i dunno that our gaming habits are the same, but i got the headset and a whole buncha games
borderlands was pretty cool playing online, though it wasnt perfect
it felt like a toned down version of diablo, but instead of hack and slash, its a first person shooter
