SW: Force Unleased

Post by Bane »

A trailer of the upcoming SW game, force unleased. Kinda spoils the story line a bit, but hey, it's quite similar to the other ones anyways, heh..

Anyone played this yet? I would like to get an opinion of it, if it's worth buying.

played the demo
it was alright
one button attack, and the force power button and grab button can be used for combos

its star wars getting the god of war treatment really

i'll probably get the game, but ill wait for it to drop in price
its short as well 10 hours or less, so a rental could do for you
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Yeah, I heard from a freind that the controls was kinda sucky sucky, and that the forces was cool, but in the end you pretty much kept using the same one over and over again. That doesn't sound too cool, IMHO.

Renting is actually a good idea, heh, didn't even occur to me! I have never rented games in the past, haven't really ever owned a console 'cept for the 8 bit, hehe :)

Played the PC port of this game. Omg, it was the suckiest game I have played in a long time. Everything sucked arse; the graphics, the controls, the porting from console to PC, everything. I really wanted to play this game mostly for he story, but nothing in the world could make me ever to play it again, heh.. From install to uninstall in less than thirty minutes, almost at par with the last prince of persia game, hehe..

If I had actually paid for this piece of crap I would have sliced my fucking wrists out of sheer frustration.

THAT bad? Ouch. And I wanted to buy it. Videos don't look so bad, TBH.

As for the last PoP, I actually beat it with my wife. Not a masterpiece, quite a few significant flaws but a pretty entertaining game, IMO.

Mind though, I am stricly talking about the PC version of Force Unleashed. AFAIK the other versions are far better. I remember reading long time ago that it was movement sensitive on the Wii version, but haven't seen that version. In the PC version you had one button for attack and a few more for force powers. I mean, why didn't they take the fucking controls for old Jedi Academy, which, for the record, was one of the best SW games ever made with absolutely perfect controls and handling.

Edit: My comment about PoP was also about the PC version of the game. I have no idea what the fuck they had doen to the graphics and the controls, but the game was damn near unplayable.. I liked the first of the 'new' PoP games alot, and that was on PC as well but back then they made decent versions of the games for PC and didn't just rush'em out without putting any effort into it as is so common practice nowadays.

I loved the Wii version myself. It was short and didnt have nearly as much content in it as the other consoles, and they didnt get the sith edition release yet....but the controls made it kick ass imo

I loved Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. My favorite FPS games of all times, I guess. I was actually hoping that at least some of their appeal (story, cool fights, atmosphere) is recreated in Force Unleashed.

So I guess it was at least a minor commercial success then.

And there you have the answer to my rant above, heh.. Even games who aren't that great can still make alot of money if released on all possible consols and PC.
